Hudson Mohawk Resource Conservation and Development Council

Fire Protection

The Hudson Mohawk RC&D Council worked with its Soil and Water Conservation District partners to secure funding and install dry hydrants. Over 60 dry hydrants were installed to increase rural fire protection in communities throughout the area. In addition, the Hudson Mohawk RC&D Council worked with the Insurance Services Office (ISO) to offer free workshops to rural fire districts on how to lower their ISO rating which results in an insurance cost savings to homeowners, businesses, and municipalities. If you would like assistance setting up a workshop in your area or for more information on how to get a dry hydrant installed, please contact Elizabeth Marks at (518) 828-4385 x105.
